Mad Tea Party At The Forest

I’ve realize with this project that ideas might surge out of the blue. I was feeling intimidated of what I could do to with iron and also time management. I wanted to do something fun, maybe internally for me was more like a scape place. As I shop, ideas came in, like that base log, I saw it and ✨ideas flew in✨. From there I thought, mmm this will be fun! A party, because I miss the sun and swimming. I decided to create this scape place. I’m glad I found that tea cup at the Goodwill store! Is always good to remember while you get all stressed out in the process, that the outcome will be AMAZING! Be positive!⚡️☀️

Kill The Kraken! Save the Tribe!

I made this piece in my Concepts in Sculpture class, casted in iron a hub-cab to the part of the body of the monster and my little tribe guys. For the multimedia, I used the hookah tubes for the tentacles, 2 container tubes for the main tentacles with lights, crafter the face of my monster with sculpey clay, and the water splashes are made out of plastic trash bags. I wanted my piece to have movement without moving and a story to tell, based on fictional world of imagination☺️🤙🏻

She Loves Me Not, Plaza

🌚“She loves me not, Plaza”🥀

I wanted to combine 3 parts on this piece. The first one, is an inner joke about my daisy tattoo that had the count of petals 16, which ends “she loves me not”

The second, is about a memory i have of my city Puerto Ordaz in Venezuela. My city  is a planned city and one of the industrial, economic and financial center. we have iron ore, wide availability of hydroelectric power, agricultural and forestry potential, gold, diamonds, bauxite and manganese, yet due to current situation in Venezuela🇻🇪... the service has been degraded thanks to the corruption that exist today. But still, I have memories of going to The Iron Square (Plaza del Hierro) with my grandfather back in the 90s, and is nostalgic.👨🏻‍🦳🧒🏻🚗

Third reason, I wanted to combine the Plaza del Hierro with a twist of unrequited love. 🌸

Colorific-cycles

CovEx19.periment

In this clip, I was doing a video project related to how people will react when they see a standing camera (with my presence there) in the very first stages of Covid-19.

 Colourific Micro Planets

In this project, I got the inspiration of being in a cluster of feelings. Some of them related to personal experiences and others from outside forces. Dealing with this while taking classes lead me to find myself in a ocean of photographs and one feeling, lost. One of the most valuables things in life is the ability of seeing colors, and for me that was my fountain of inspiration. I deduced to created a mix of photographs expressing this cluster of emotions and moments in single explosive colorific micro planets.

Isolation-19

While I was learning darkroom techniques used to process photographic films and prints, I took advantage of two current events happening in 2020.

I created what I internally felt since Covid-19 started, with the lockdown and being unable to feel safe or do what you want to do without worry of consequences. For the better, being safe for other to not spread the virus was a challenge, because I felt comfortable with being at home and do most things at home, but since it felt like a vacation…I had the urge to do all the fun things because prices were low, people stayed in, etc. Since I had to just live with the fantasy, I could use this as an opportunity to mix both feelings together, that’s why I used the mask, the ears, the shirt. My intention was to create loneliness, being trapped, but with the spirit intact, protected.

The War of Beliefs

For the second selection of photographies, I went in and capture how divisive the recent US presidential election was. Asides from anyone’s personal subjectivity related to the topic, I wanted to capture what it seems or seemed to be an historical moment, yet a deja vu from my homeland Venezuela. The beauty I find in these two pictures is the disagreement, comparing to Venezuela… that is very brutal and extreme with protestors, this was a very civil and not so chaotic, first world problems. Watching this event as an outsider and comparing with past experience and mindset, was very revealing for my personal beliefs and personal growth. My favorite of these two, is the one that while everyone was yelling at each other and “flipping fingers” the two dogs were having a moment, like those in Disney movies? something like that.
